I'm a little confused by your times. We are still using daylight
savings time. I think you were off an hour. Here are the passes and
times over Fort Myers, which is a little south of you:

Loc.Date Time | Satellite Azm | Elev. | Time Azm |
Duration
10/02/99 10:03 | Ao-27 42.8° | 12.0° | 10:15 148.3° | 00:12
10/02/99 11:42 | Ao-27 4.3° | 53.3° | 11:57 203.4° | 00:15

... and passes for tomorrow:

10/03/99 09:38 | Ao-27 62.4° | 3.8° | 09:46 127.3° | 00:08
10/03/99 11:14 | Ao-27 14.0° | 72.9° | 11:30 190.3° | 00:16
10/03/99 12:56 | Ao-27 335.1° | 8.7° | 13:06 248.5° | 00:10

Both the passes today were BUSY, and were visited by an inconsiderate
operator testing a new rig, IN THE OSCAR SUB BANDS!

Which polarization sense are you antennas? I've found that with linear
polarization, vertical works best for receive, at least for the first
part of an AO27 pass.

I hope this helps!

73, Mike
