A handful of operators relay APRS packets through AO27 now, on an
experimental basis.  There is a device which wires in series with your
microphone cable which will send an APRS packet when you let off the
ptt.  Check out the TAPR site for details.  In my opinion, this is no
more annoying than some of the "roger beeps" you hear on some European
satellite stations.

I too am eager to see a software implemented PSK modem.  Lets see what
the fellows at AMSAT France have up their sleeves.
