RE: Re:

Good morning,

First, if you are running Win 95/98, I highly recommend
Pacterm 98. You can download a trial version (crippleware) at:

When you pay them, you get a registration number that
you type into the program, and it enables all the features. I
like Pacterm 98 best for the KAM+/Win 98 combo. I have tried
other software, (even LogWindows!) and like this one the best.

To do unproto transmissions, set the unproto port
to the port you want to use (Port 1 for VHF) by pressing <F-7>
Then simply type your message in the TX window, and press
<enter>. You must type something, a blank will not be transmitted.
To resend your line, press <F-9> <enter>. It is that easy.

I do not have Host Master II+ (ver 3.3) loaded into my
computer, but I do have the manual, so if you have specifics,
I can try to answer it. I have been using Pacterm 98 for two
years now, so the Hostmaster II+ memory is just a little bit rusty.

BTW, Hostmaster does have one advantage, it will run
in DOS mode, and on 8088 computers. Because of that, I am
not interested in letting it go.

Let me know how it works.
