To all that have replied:

Thank you very much for all of the replies.  I am using a long rubber duck
on my HT (Diamond RH77CA) and have yet to hear it.  I just picked up a 430
all mode from last weekend's hamfest and am working on getting an antenna
system together.  Now that I know when to listen for it, I might have better
luck!
