For those who may not be aware, there are two lists for encouraging the
use of HAMRADIO and SCOUTING. scoutradio@onelist.com and
scoutradio@k4ksa.org. There are two new items of interest:
1) Promoting an organized use of FRS radios among scouts as an entry level
to get them hooked on radio. (Calling channel 1, no PL).
2) Asking all hams interested in scouting to include "SCOUTS" as one of
their APRS Message Groups so that any scout, anywhere, can send a
APRS message to "SCOUTS" and it will be seen by all scouters everwhere.
Thus, at any time, for demo's or meetings, scouts anywhere in the
country have a good chance of contacting other scouts via APRS live.
