In France, we install similar reflectors on the mast of sailing boats. They
reflect perfectly well the maritime radar X band waves. Such reflectors (made
of 3 simple aluminum sheets), 5 inches large, have an equivalent surface
greater than a 30 feet large hull.
The sailing boats are therefore easily detected by the large cargo ships, even
if they roll or swing.
