I never had the opportunity to work JY1, but have read of his amateur radio
activities and had no idea of his contributions to AMSAT. It seems that this
gentleman was not only a great world leader, but someone who genuinely loved
amateur radio in all of it's forms, both satellite and otherwise. His shoes
will be some big ones to fill. I wonder if it would be appropriate for
AMSAT-NA to send some type of card or letter to his family to let them know
that they are in our thoughts and prayers? It seems to me that this may be
appreciated by his family.
