Nope.... using my FT50 and a MFJ-1715S whip antenna I have found that on
passes which go to the east of me I get a much better signal quality by
inverting the HT so the antenna is pointed at the ground. It's the exact
opposite for passes west of me I either have to hold the HT horizontally or
perfectly upright. Weird, huh?
