Just a thought, lots of odd high current stuff is used by car stereo
"thumpers".  Try either a top end car stereo shop or Parts Express (page 59
shows a 40A 5AG fuse for $3.79, 1.5"L x 13/32" dia.), 1-800-338-0531.
