With 80 watts to a 17-element Cushcraft (linear polarized) I was able
to make 10 scatter contacts between 0742z and 1553z. (No, I wasn't
awake and on the air that whole time! :) )
The plan of listening for an opening and tuning up or down 5 or 10 KHz
worked well for me also.
