Just enter the ".812" and forget about the "5". Most scanners are not
sufficiently narrow-banded to discriminate 500 Hz. Also the FM "capture
effect" will smooth things out. Besides, the doppler shift will have the
received frequency moving up and down from the center frequency.

Bottom line: You should have good results with your scanner.
