Thanks to everyone for the thoughtful suggestions. I think that I will
wait before buying another piece of gear. The responses seem to indicate
that I may be able to use my FT-7400H for downlink, and a 2M radio for
the uplink.

I hope to talk to y'all in a few weeks on the bird. I still need to do
some serious antenna and feedline work  here.
