Jim and Erik : - In my feeble memory I seem to recall in the early 
days of the UN - there was a ham station that tried satellite operation 
a  few times but the electrical interference (probably bugging devices
all through that building) was so intense that the operators (don't
know who they were either) gave it up as hopeless and it has 
remained that way ever since. I'm sure you will receive other words
from hams out East that could have been instrumental in working
