The current runaround of STS numbers I believe is due to the fact 
that the skipped #s belong to the ISS construction mission, but due 
to Russia's delays the Shuttle program has had to skip these 
particular flights until the first part of the station is ready and 
launched into orbit by Russia.

http://shuttle.nasa.gov should have the missions and their flight 
tasks listed.
