The following msg. was posted to a subscription list
I belong to and it may/may not be of interest to anyone
except the thread (N. Korean launch) started.  Apologies

Possible New Launch.

New Launch:  31 August 1998  0307 GMT

Site:  Musudan-ri (40.5 N, 129.5 E)

Launcher:  TD-1 (Taepo Dong 1)

International Number(s):  1998-      

 SSC      Name

          No Name  [Owner = North Korea]

--------------------------------------------------------------

North Korea claims that the Monday launch was a space launch,
not a ballistic missile.  They report the orbit is 6,978 km X
218 km.  Inclination 41 degrees.  US Space Command has not 
cataloged the satellite as of Noon, 5 September 1998.  If the
launch is confirmed, a second report will be issued.
