FN45 is a grid zone designator. Using my handy dandy conversion
software (Written by Stacey E. Mills, W4SM) I find that is 45 deg 30 min
North, 71 deg 00 min West. Now, going to the ARRL Grid Locator (in my
Handbook, 74th Edition) I find it to be a grid that covers a bit of
upstate New Hampsire, a bit of SW Maine, and the remainder of the grid
being in Quebec, Canada.
Going fishing along the St. Lawrence Seaway? I see there's quite a few
small lakes in the area, too. (BTW, I looked at the area using the
Tiger Mapping Service at http://tiger.census.gov. Too bad it doesn't
include any of Canada, but then again, it is a U.S. Gov't site.)
Hope that gives you enough info on how to find all this info out. BTW,
the web site for the Grid to Lat/Long software is
http://www.cstone.net/~w4sm/ham1.html
Quite a bit of useful software there, and the price is right, too!
