Here's a thought for ground stations: I remember a nifty little
(shareware) DOS terminal emulator called COMMO that had a very powerful
script language. I even knew people who used it as a "bot" for online
gaming on dial-up BBSes. I belive that it should be possible to write
scripts for ground stations that would look for a disconnect and _only_
attempt a connect at that time, perform a specified action, and then
disconnect; or alternatively, stop trying to connect if another station
connects. I'm sure that there are Win programs out there that could do
this too, but COMMO has the advantages that is is free, small, fast,
and fairly easy to use if you want to take a bit of time to learn it.
Perhaps someone out there (don't look at me, I don't have the time)
could write and debug some COMMO scripts for MIR and publish them on
the web.
