Re: MIR transmits UNUSEFUL data !

To all,

Working MIR is not difficult at all and you do not need alot of
specialized equipment to do so. I tried to connect to MIR for some
time on the very late night passes over my qth with no avail. After
reading the message below that was posted on SAREX reflector, I was
able to connect 5 times on 6 different passes with out any trouble.

I was using the terminal program that is supplied with Microsoft
Windows, with an ICOM IC-281H with a Ringo Ranger Antenne.

I have considered writing a software program that would wait for the
<<D>> packets to be received and then send a connect request and if
connected would be able to upload a file, or download a message. The
goal would be for unattended operation with out causing QRM with
other stations or remaining connected when MIR is out of range.

Any comments and/or ideas would be appreciated.
