Just as in Real Estate, location is important...in Ham Radio, the most
important element of your station is your antenna (and transmission line) system. Put your
money and efforts there and you will be rewarded. Personally I like the
KLM antennas and use the 40 element 432 circularly polarized model
for the uplink on the OSCAR satellites.

There is no one single answer for this.

"Best" depends on what is important to you - getting on
the air for the least amount of money? Modifying something
to get on the air? Building something from scratch or from
kits? Buying the latest and greatest YaeComWood at the ham
store? Ham radio is unique in the myriad ways to approach
it. Choose your own approach.

It's up to you.
