That brings me to my next public question: for those that pay by the
byte, how much does it cost?  It would be an interesting thought
excercise to figure out how much someone would spend each month on
unsubscribes and HTML attatchments.  My guess is it would amount to a
few pennies.  I would think, though, that a greater concern with regard
to the question of cost would be excessive message quoting.  I have
seen replies with the full text of the original message, plus multiple
replies (and sometimes headers), with a one- or two-line comment on one
point.  When I cut my teeth on local dial-ups many years ago, I learned
that one should only quote as much of the original message as required
to clarify your thought.  I think there's even an RFC or a netiquette
bulliten out there somewhere on this subject.  Maybe I'll hunt it up
and post it, just to be obnoxious....  :)
