INTERSTATE BALLOON TO BALLOON REPEATER LINKUP
On May 9 Bill Brown, WB8ELK, will launch a balloon in Alabama
simultaneously with the WINDTRAX balloon in Indiana. If the
idea works, signals on 2 meters originating in the upper
Midwest will be linked by 440 to the Alabama balloon, retransmitted,
and be audible over a large part of the Southeast. In any event,
barring adverse weather, balloon signals from 10 meters to
73 cm should be heard Saturday over a giant swath stretching all
the way from the Great Lakes to the Gulf of Mexico.
For specific information on this launch, check out the
project websites:

For launch notices for all balloon events, including the above
interstate project, US, Canadian, and European events, and the
upcoming Massachusetts HamRadiosonde launch on May 30,
