Monday is the Mirex School experiment!
www.mirex.net is presently set up to display only those stations which
have successfully digipeated through Mir. There is also a oribtal
tracking system feeding Mir's current position into the server. This
makes it the ideal means to follow the activity via the internet:
http://www.mirex.net/
There is also a page without the digi filter, showing all the data:
http://www.mirex.net/nofilter.html
The dos program MIRMON, an excellent way to follow the experiment on rf,
is available without charge from the TAPR ftp site:
ftp://ftp.tapr.org/tapr/SIG/aprssig/files/dosstuff/APRSdos/MIRMON2.ZIP
Versions of APRS for other platforms are also available on the TAPR
server.
Another reminder. Most stations in North America should not transmit!
This is an experiment focusing on schools. Only the following stations
are authorized to transmit:
SCHOOLS or other Youth Groups
ALL non-North American stations
TRAINS
Boats
Aircraft
BackPack portable... running on battery power.. Use runner symbol.
or Campground.
Full details of the test are available from Bob Bruninga's web site:
