Experience with R-1051B HF Receiver?

Is there anyone out there who has experience with the R-1051.  It appears
to be a shipboard unit so if you used it I would appreciate your comments
on it's reliability and any other comments you might have.  I am thinking
of purchasing one as a general purpose receiver as well as the receive side
of a mode A station.  Any place I can get an original manual for the unit?
