RE: Yaesu FT-847 CAT Interface

That's incredible! Oh well I guess that I won't be recommending anyone
to buy that rig. Considering that the FT-900 supports reading from the
dial, AND all the competition from Kenwood and Icom support reading from
the dial, that the designers would have added it. On well, I do hope
that however reviews the product in the magazines notices this and makes
sure the buyers know. I love using the radio dial with Station, it's a
shame that Yaesu users are once again disadvantaged.

There is no hunting, but apparently you're going to be surprised. There
is a command to "set frequency" (main VFO, Sat RX, or Sat TX) but no
"get frequency" command. I am surprised that it's this way too. There
doesn't appear to be any technology improvement with the CAT -- where
you would think there would be the most room for easy upgrades.
