The AMSAT 2006 Space Symposium and Annual meeting will be held October 2006 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel San Francisco Mid-Peninsula hotel located at 1221 Chess Dr, Foster City California. The Symposium will again be a joint meeting with the ARISS International Delegates and will also include the IARU Satellite Advisory Panel annual meeting, and a meeting of AMSAT International Delegates.
We are pleased to announce that our 2006 Space Symposium Keynote Address will feature International Space Station Expedition 12 Commander William S. McArthur. Commander McArthur broke all previous records for amateur radio use during his six month stay on the ISS. Commander McArthur will be featured during our annual banquet on Saturday evening.

The Crowne Plaza Mid-Peninsula is conventiently located close to San Francisco International Airport which is a major point of entry for direct flights daily from Europe, Asia and Oceana. It is also roughtly equidistant between the
cities of San Francisco, San Jose and Oakland.
The host for the 2006 Symposium is the Project OSCAR radio club, which is proud to welcome AMSAT members back to the beginning roots of the Amateur Satellite Service. The time of year is perfect to visit the Bay and surrounding areas with average temperature averaging 75F (23C) and the likelihood of rain close to nil. So it is the perfect time to plan a trip to the wine country, beaches, the mountains and valleys. We are sure you will not be disappointed.
