Our Policy

AMSAT uses its best efforts to respect the privacy of its online visitors. At our site, we do not collect personally identifiable information from individuals unless they provide it to us voluntarily and knowingly. This means we do not require you to register or provide information to us in order to view our site. AMSAT only gathers personally identifiable data, such as names, addresses, zip/postal codes, e-mail addresses, etc., when voluntarily submitted by a visitor. Is My Personal Information Secure?

Yes. Generally there is a minimum of information kept on the site about AMSAT members.  This is generally limited to email address for mailing list subscribers and names of authors that contribute articles. Information about your AMSAT membership is not stored on the web site.

Note to Parents About Our Privacy Policy

AMSAT encourages children to learn more about satellites, space, amateur radio and our organization and, where appropriate, find opportunities to gain an interest in these areas through AMSAT training programs and volunteer activities. However, we encourage this to be done only with the knowledge of the child's parents under parental supervision. . For this reason, AMSAT follows guidelines for interactive electronic media published by the Children's Advertising Review Unit of the Better Business Bureau. Special notices urging children to get their parent's permission before providing any personal information have been incorporated into our site where appropriate.
